Yi Wei危伊

I am an undergraduate studying Computer Science and Mathematics at Purdue University (B.S. expected 2028), where I do research on robot learning at the Computational Motion, Manipulation, and Autonomy (CoMMA) Lab with Prof. Zachary Kingston. Before Purdue, I studied at Xiamen University and was on exchange at HKUST.

Goal: build general-purpose robots and ship them into everyone's home.

Research interests: I am broadly interested in building general-purpose robots through:
• Model-based robot learning: Learning models that help robots reason, plan, and act effectively.
• Reinforcement learning: Enabling robots to learn useful behaviors through interaction and experience.
• Robot hardware and prototyping: Building my own robot prototypes and bringing learning algorithms onto physical systems.
Together, these interests reflect my goal of becoming a full-stack roboticist who can work across both learning algorithms and real robot systems.

Real-world deployment on an I2RT YAM arm with on-board inference on an NVIDIA Jetson Thor, one network evaluation per action chunk. Shown at 2× speed.

Faster Visuomotor Policy Learning on Action Manifolds via Riemannian MeanFlow

arXiv preprint arXiv:2609.30127, 2026

A visuomotor policy that generates robot actions directly on the action manifold, in as few as one network evaluation.

Real-robot comparison against SE3Dif, BRIDGeR, EGF, and VSIGD. All videos are shown at 2× speed.

Fast Generative Grasping via Lie Group-Constrained MeanFlow

arXiv preprint arXiv:2608.26076, 2026

Reliable grasps in five network evaluations or fewer, up to 39× faster than diffusion-based grasp generators, deployed on a real Franka arm.
